Frequently Asked Questions

What types of projects does LTM Industries take on?
We fabricate and install structural and miscellaneous steel for commercial, industrial and residential clients. Our core range is projects up to 50,000 square feet — a recent example is a 35,000-square-foot trade school.
Do you work with aluminum or stainless steel?
Yes. We regularly supply aluminum and stainless components alongside our steel packages, such as handrails on a project where we're also providing the structural steel. Large stand-alone aluminum or stainless contracts are generally better served by a specialty fabricator.
Where are you located, and what areas do you serve?
We're headquartered in Spruce Grove, Alberta, in the Edmonton region, and we serve projects throughout Western Canada.
How do I request a quote?
Send your drawings, specifications and tender closing date to estimating@ltmindustries.com.
How long does it take to receive a quote?
Most quotes are delivered within one to two weeks, depending on the scope of the project.
What factors influence project pricing?
  • Project location. Work outside the Edmonton region adds crew travel and equipment rental costs.
  • Site access. Confined spaces or work within an existing structure require additional installation time.
What happens after a project is awarded?
  1. Our team prepares shop drawings, based on your structural engineering drawings or, where needed, on designs we develop with an architect.
  2. Once the shop drawings are approved, fabrication begins in our shop.
  3. A dedicated field crew handles installation.
What is a typical project timeline?
When structural and architectural drawings are complete, shop drawings typically take two to three weeks. Steel is generally delivered to site three to eight weeks after that, depending on project size and our production schedule.
Do you provide stamped drawings, BIM or connection design?
Yes. We also offer quantity takeoffs and as-built drawings.
What insurance and safety standards do you maintain?
LTM Industries carries $5 million in liability insurance, holds WCB clearance and maintains a comprehensive safety program. On site, we follow whichever safety requirements are more stringent — the general contractor's or our own — so please share your site safety expectations ahead of mobilization.
What do you need from the general contractor?
  • Your required steel delivery date, so we can confirm a schedule that works for both teams
  • Completed concrete work
  • Site elevations
  • Suitable site access, including ground protection such as rig mats where conditions require
What finishes are available?
We offer a full range of finishes. Priming is done in-house, and painting, galvanizing and powder coating are completed through our trusted finishing partners.
Are you CWB certified?
Yes. LTM Industries is certified by the Canadian Welding Bureau to CSA W47.1, Division 2.
Are you hiring?
We’re always looking for skilled people, including structural steel fitters, welders, apprentices, project managers, estimators and general labourers. Send your resume to careers@ltmindustries.com.
